Installing and Connecting Channel D on Apple TV


Step 1: Start Setup

  • Turn on your Apple TV and select your preferred language.


Step 2: Choose Setup Method

  • If you have an iPhone or iPad, click “Set Up with Device.”

  • Otherwise, select “Set Up Manually.”


Step 3: Connect to Wi-Fi

  • Select your practice Wi-Fi network.

  • Enter the Wi-Fi password.


Step 4: Sign In with Apple ID

  • Enter your Apple ID details, or create a new Apple account.

  • You’ll receive a verification code.

  • Once entered, you’ll be added as a user.

Step 5: Enable Basic Settings

  • Enable Location Services and Analytics.

  • Set password settings to “Require Password for All Purchases.”

  • On the purchase prompt, click “Not Now.”

  • Ensure the device is fully activated.

Step 6: Label the Device (Optional)

  • You may label each Apple TV device to organize rooms:

    • e.g., Patient Lounge, Treatment Room, Hygiene Room.



Install and Launch Channel D

Step 7: Open App Store

  • Navigate to the Apple TV Home Screen.

  • Open the App Store.


Step 8: Search and Install Channel D

  • Click the search bar.

  • Type “Channel D” (with a space before the “D”).

  • Select Channel D from the results.

  • Click “Open” after it installs.


Step 9: Enter Practice ID

  • When prompted, enter your 6-digit Practice ID.

  • This can be found on the top left of your Channel D dashboard on your computer.


Step 10: Confirm Video Playback

  • Click “Connect.”

  • Your selected videos from your Channel D dashboard will now play on your Apple TV.


Step 11: Locate App on Home Screen

  • The Channel D app will now appear on your Apple TV Home Screen.


Prevent Screensaver Interruptions

Step 12: Disable Screensaver

  • Go to Settings > General > Screensaver.

  • Set “Start After” to Never.


Step 13: Why Disable Screensaver?

  • This prevents Channel D videos from being interrupted during playback.

Troubleshooting

Step 14: App Updates

  • Channel D should update automatically via the App Store.

Step 15: Reinstall If Needed

  • If the update was corrupted or interrupted:

    • Navigate to Channel D, press and hold center button until options appear.

    • Select Delete to uninstall.

    • Reinstall the app by repeating the search and install steps.
